Dzukou Valley Trek
6 Days, 5 Nights
If you’ve dreamed of walking through the valleys and plains carpeted with exotic flowers encompassed by emerald green hills, lost in the murmur of stream flowing by and enchanted by lush forests then Dzukou valley is the place for you. Situated at the border of Nagaland and Manipur at an attitude of 2438m above sea level – behind the Jepfu peak – this magical valley looks like a mown lawn from a distance watered by two meandering streams, the Dzukou valley and the JepfuRiver. This picturesque valley and its vast meadows popularly known as the “Valley of Flowers of the North East” are treat for any nature lover.
Tiger's Nest Trek
6 Days, 5 Nights
Even the shortest trip to Bhutan is incomplete without a visit to the Tiger’s Nest Monastery, also known as Paro Takstang - one of Bhutan’s most recognized spots. Legend has it that Guru Rinpoche, who is credited with introducing Buddhism to Bhutan was carried to this location on the back of a tigress from Khenpajong, Tibet.
This trip would also include Thimpu, Phuentsholing and Chuka along the way.

Khlieh Nohkalikai (Head of Nohkalikai) Trek with Law Umiong Falls

Walk along the sandy river banks of Law Umiong, across the vast grasslands of Sohra to the head of the Nohkalikai Waterfalls. The expansive grasslands on the way give the feel of the Prairies; leading to the head of the wide Law Umiong Waterfalls. A few more hills and then a trek downwards through the jungle will take you into the gorge. Skipping across the rocks you can view a number of waterfalls and fossilized rocks on the way to the Khlieh (Head) of Nohkalikai.

Start: Sa-I-Mika Resort

Duration: 3 – 4 hours

Difficulty: Mad Max

Best Time: October to March

Double Decker Living Root Bridge (Nongriat) and Rainbow Falls

Created by the local Khasi people as a stronger alternative to the rickety wooden bridges, the ‘man-trained’ natural living root bridges are a great example of Man’s bond with Nature. Roots of the rubber trees are manipulated for years to entwine each other to form the strong Living Root bridges which are capable of bearing the weight of a few people at a time. The renowned Double Decker Bridge at Nongriat village is a 3500 steps long hike from Tyrna lined with beautiful natural pools and suspension bridges. Another hour of trekking from Nongriat will take you the Rainbow Falls.

Best Time: October to March (Slippery but beautiful during monsoon)

David Scott Trail

Once a mule track to Bangladesh, now a scenic trail lined up with beautiful ponds, streams and bridges – the David Scott Trail is a trek that will show you beautiful Meghalaya in around 3 hours during good weather. Start from Mawphlang and exit at Lad Mawphlang, this 16 – 17 KM trail is a cut-off from the hectic world into one so mesmerizing that you would wish it just went on. With no phone or internet connection through most of the trail, distractions are only in the form of beauty and serenity.

Nameri Jungle Trek

This is an early morning trek in the National Park with great chances of seeing animals in the wild. Nameri, being a bird lover’s paradise, gives you ample opportunities to see a large number of bird species. The trek starts from the other side of the Jia Bhoroli river, which is crossed by a boat. The trek is roughly 5 KMs and the group would be accompanied by a forest guard as it is within the Nameri National Park.

Start: Lalimou Eco Camp/Nameri Jungle Camp

Duration: 3 hours

Difficulty: Grandpa Jack

Best Time: November to April

Camp at Lalimou Eco Camp or Nameri Jungle Camp for a night under the stars or in Tree Houses.
