Meghalaya in 7 Days

This is a relaxing Meghalaya itinerary comprising the best of all touristy stuff and the points on the checklist of every traveller's diary. You get to go on beautiful treks, visit the world famous living root bridges, go on a boat ride in the clear waters of Dawki and see the canyons of the North East. The tour ends with a beautiful evening cruising on the mighty Brahmaputra river.

The brief itinerary for the 7 day tour is as below

Day 1

Pick up from Guwahati Airport/Train Station and drive to Shillong. We will have plenty of sightseeing on the way and in Shillong. Stay in Shillong for the night.

Day 2

After breakfast, head down to Laitlum Grand Canyons, where the movie Rock On 2 was filmed. We can soak up the beautiful view of the canyons and relax there for a while and then head back for more local sightseeing in Shillong. Stay in Shillong for the night.

Day 4

After breakfast, visit Dain- Thlen Falls. Head to India's tallest plunge waterfall, Nohkalikai, visit other beautiful waterfalls and some spectacular caves.

Stay in Sohra for the night.

Day 3

After breakfast, we leave for Sohra and on the way sight seeing - Elephant Falls, Wahkaba Falls, Mawkdok Dympep Valley viewpoint. Stay in Sohra for the night.

Important Info

  • Passport details (Name, Number, Expiry Date and Country of Issue) is required at the time of booking for International tourists.

  • Carry a photocopy of all your documents and ID proof.

  • Bonfires will be provided only in winter.

  • Once booking is confirmed, we will send you a more detailed itinerary via email.

Itinerary

Day 5

After an early breakfast, leave for Dawki. The route to Dawki is very scenic, once there, enjoy a boat ride in the clear waters of the Umngot river with Bangladesh just on the other side of the river. Leave for Mawlynnong, the cleanest village in Asia and also home to Living Root Bridges and halt for lunch. Post lunch, head to visit the root bridges and some local sight seeing. Stay at Sohra for the night.

Day 6

After breakfast, leave for Guwahati. Spend the day doing local sightseeing and in the evening, we go for a leisurely dinner cruise on the mighty Brahmaputra. Stay in Guwahati for the night.

Day 7

If time permits, we visit the Kamakhya Temple and then drop off at the Airport or the Train Station to continue or head back home with amazing memories of the trip and an awesome collection of photos to make your friends back home jealous ;)
