Travel through Music

AdVenture NorthEast gives you the "Travel through Music" series wherein we will post a song that would inspire the traveller in you to pack your bags, hit the road and see the world. Would love your suggestions as well and those whose suggestions are posted will be duly credited :)

Travel through Music - #1

Let's start off with the movie that has inspired all Indian travellers at some point or other. Probably the main reason behind those "Chal, Goa chalte hai!" or "Goa Trip ka plan..." (which most likely hasn't materialised yet ;) ) ideas. Doesn't listening to this take you on a trip down memory lane and make you want to go on a spontaneous road trip with your friends? - The Dil Chahta Hai title track!

Travel through Music - #2

The Hammock Song by David Cline is the most underrated travel song ever. Stuck at your desk job and have the urge to quit and travel the world. If lyrics like

"I'm getting called by the open road and lost in the breeze.

Money ain't my demon don't need much to get things done

I'd rather sit down on the coast and watch the ocean meet the sun"

doesn't get you up and about, I am not sure what would..

Travel through Music - #3

Into The Wild is a movie/story that has been a source of inspiration for most of us. With so many amazing songs to pick from the Movie Soundtrack, we have decided to go with Guaranteed this week.

"Everyone I come across in cages they bought

They think of me and my wandering

But I'm never what they thought

Got my indignation but I'm pure in all my thoughts

I'm alive"

Remember, "HAPPINESS ONLY REAL WHEN SHARED".

Travel through Music - #4

Fly Away From Here - Aerosmith

Don't we all want to fly away from where we are, off to the mountains, the beaches or wherever our happy places are! No one could have put it better than Steven Tyler singing

"We'll just fly away from here

Our hopes and dreams

Are out there somewhere"

Travel through Music - #5

Khaabon Ke Parinday from Zindagi Na Milegi Doobara makes it to the list this week. Ah, that feeling when you go on a road trip with your friends! Can we not picture ourselves with our own gang in this video?

Travel through Music - #6

Wonderlust King by Gogol Bordello is for the gypsy in you. Their music is mostly inspired by gypsy music mixed with some punk. This is not a cliché travel song, it definitely should make the list of your travel songs. An excerpt of the lyrics are

"I'm a wonderlust king I stay on the run, let me out, let me be gone"
