Tiger's Nest Trek

Distance: This monastery is located 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) to the north of Paro.

Elevation Gain: 1,700 feet

Highest Elevation: 10,240 feet / 3,120 meters

Time: Allow 5 to 7 hours for the entire visit

Trail Type: Easy to moderate gradients. Anyone can attempt this trek without much fuss but do remember to carry your nourishment with you.

Starting and Ending Points: Guwahati

Duration: 5 Nights | 6 Days

For Entry Passes of Bhutan and Registration Forms following Docs are required :

  • Passport photo (3.5×2.5cm size) one attach with form and two extra.

  • Passport / Voter ID (Compulsory).

Things Included:

  • Guwahati to Guwahati Travelling Expenses (Train AC 3 tier class)

  • Twin/Three sharing basis

  • Home Stay/Hotel charges

  • All Meals and drinks (Packaged drinking water & Soft drinks) throughout the Trek

  • Basic Medication as per requirement.

  

Things Excluded:

  • Personal Expenses such as Laundry, hard drinks.

  • Trekking Permit /Permission

  • Additional sightseeing or extra usage of vehicle, other than mentioned in the itinerary.

  • Camera fees, Guide / tour escort charges & Entrance Fees.

  • Any cost arising due to natural calamities like, landslides, road blockage, political disturbances, etc (to be borne by the client, who is directly payable on the spot).

  • Service Tax, Insurance.

  • Anything which is not include in the inclusion​.

Expectations from this trip:

  • This is a backpacking trip. We will travel only in public transport/shared jeep etc. We will choose place of accommodation based on group’s opinion and the expertise of group leader.

  • Expect only simple vegetarian & non vegetarian meals (sometimes Instant Noodles) in your package.

  • Drinking and smoking is not allowed in trip because drinking is not recommended in any trek and smoking can be dangerous due to sudden change in altitude. Please don’t debate further on this issue.

  • Our daily schedule during trip may differ from our usual daily life schedule with respect to day chores, tea timing, food timing etc. Please don’t complain about these petty issues.

  • Respect the local people and their culture. We try to learn more from them about the place.

  • Most of our decision will be based on group’s opinion but the decision of group leader will be final. You are expected to proactively involve in helping the team.

 

 A basic Checklist for your trip:

Adventure travel requires one to be adequately equipped with the right kind of personal gear. Since one is travelling in to the wilderness they would be hardly any opportunity to buy anything once you hit the trail so we urge you to carefully pack everything in to your bags.

  • Passport / Voter card (Original Copy)

  • Shirts/T-shirts-2

  • Trekking pants-2

  • Regular socks (3-4 pairs)

  • Comfortable trekking/hiking shoes(shoes with a thick sole are recommended)

  • Jacket or sweater and other warm clothes like muffler, gloves, winter cap etc

  • Walking stick (not compulsory)

  • Lightweight flipflops/sandals/slippers

  • Raincoat/Poncho

  • Small light weight towel

  • One light hiking bag

  • Water bottle (sturdy ones, no empty Bisleri bottles!!)

  • Mosquito/Insect Repellent Cream

  • Torch with extra pair of cells

  • Personal medical kit, soap, paste etc. Please don’t expect to get medical stores everywhere.

  • Carry your luggage in a backpack. You should be able to walk long distances carrying your luggage.
